What is WatchThis?

Learn what WatchThis does and how to use lists, tracking, and schedules together.

Last updated February 4, 2026

WatchThis helps you find what to watch, organize it into lists, and keep your progress in sync across devices (and optionally with collaborators).

  • Browse Trending Today or search by title.
  • Filter by Content Type, Genre, Year, and Sort By.
  • Open a title to see details, cast, and streaming providers (based on your region and selected services).

Learn more in Find Movies and TV Shows and Where to Watch.

  • Create lists for anything (watch later, comfort shows, “with friends”, etc.).
  • Keep lists Private or make them Public.
  • Add content from the details view (no copy/paste required).
  • See Recommended suggestions based on what’s already in a list.

Start here: Create and Manage Lists and Add and Remove Items from a List.

WatchThis stores your watch status separately from your lists, so you can keep progress even as you reorganize.

  • Movies: Planning or Completed
  • TV: Planning, Watching, Paused, Completed, or Dropped

Read: Watch Status Explained.

For TV shows, you can:

  • Mark individual episodes watched.
  • Schedule shows for specific days of the week.
  • Use the “next episode” prompt on scheduled days to stay consistent.

Share a list with others and choose whether they can edit it or view it.

If you enable syncing on a shared list, WatchThis can also sync watch status and TV schedules across collaborators for content in that list.
